Welcome to SQL Toolkit

My aim for SQL Toolkit is that it provides useful tools to help in administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, scripting, problem management and a knowledgebase explaining how to deal with the complexities of managing a database system. This should mean taking an holistic look at providing an end to end system that is effectively time managed and documented. Learning about databases should be challenging, exciting and interesting. It should extend our horizons and be life enhancing. With the explosion of electronic data managing, securing and protecting the quality and availability of data is a necessity and this should allows us to extend our vision for the future.

The Database World:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain.”

The future of Database Management:

  • Holistic database systems.
  • Systemic approaches.
  • Data management of systems and governance.
  • Best Practice.
  • The Cloud.
  • Anytime, any place, anywhere.
